renewing our membership for 2008.
Vice
President: Steve Ingraham.

Report.
Treasurer: George Wohlgemuth
George
was called away at the last minute to a business meeting so the treasury report
was giving by Brian Gagnon. The treasury balance as of March 11, 2008 is $6,118.67.
This is somewhat lower than the $6,562.49 balance reported at the January 8th
meeting. The reduction is primarily due to two invoices for The Nautical Mile (November
and February) as well as postage expenses. Income largely consisted of
membership renewals and advertising income.
There was also some income as a result of newsletter sales and clothing. As of March 11, George reports a total of 66
total paid memberships. There are
several people that have not renewed that will be contacted to determine why
their renewals have gone through. Tom
Kenny made the motion to accept the Treasurer’s report and Jack Raskin seconded.
Advertising: Mike Kurland

Both
Joe Gartner and Tom Kenny renewed the offer to have Bill Carley put member’s
pictures on the website. We have three new members/attendees tonight and the
offer was expressly extended to them to provide Bill Carley with
photographs. Brian Gagnon confirmed that
the website has been “updated” per last months meeting notes.
Secretary:
Brian
expressed concern about the number of nonrenewals for 2008. This matter has to be addressed.
Old Business:
Joe
Gartner gave, to the new attendees, something of a history of the Tuckerton
Seaport and our Show there.
New Business:
Joe
Gartner announced Dick Thomas has apparently decided to have the 1st
Tuckerton Seaport Boat Show Meeting on March 25th. The strong suggestion was made that this
information be sent out to all of our Chapter members. Tom Kenny, Steve
Ingraham and Jack Raskin expressed interest in participating in the “Boat Show
Committee”. Joe said he would take care
of the announcement to all of the members.
Brian Gagnon will continue to handle the awards for both the show at
Tuckerton and for the show at Wrightsville in October.
At
the end of the meeting Steve Ingraham volunteered to accept the membership
“Chair Person” position. Brian Gagnon
will provide him with details as far as “what to do”.
Joe
Gartner reported that the 501 C Status of the Chapter is being “worked on” and
should be concluded in the near future.
Notification
for this meeting was made according to the historical method of “postcards and
email”. Those present said they
appreciated being contacted that way.
Brian
Gagnon mentioned to all that Mary Dieterly, Jr. had passed away. Information concerning her passing will be
contained in the next newsletter.
It
was also mentioned that Brian Gagnon’s racing runabout, Tiger, was going to be
back on the market. The gentlemen that
purchased the boat (Garland Gentry of Culpepper, VA) finds himself in the
position of needing expensive surgery.
He can be contacted directly if there is interest on anyone’s part.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:35 PM
